The Grand Chancellor of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta Albrecht Boeselager received at the Magistral Palace the Ambassador of the Republic of Ecuador to the Holy See, José Luis Alvarez Palacio.

On the occasion, Ambassador Alvarez Palacio formally conveyed the decision and wish of the President of Ecuador, Lenin Moreno Garcés, to strengthen the links of friendship and collaboration with the Sovereign Order of Malta.

Recalling the long-established ties with Ecuador and the establishment of diplomatic relations which had first taken place in 1953, the Grand Chancellor confirmed the wish of the Sovereign Order of Malta to resume the exchange of ambassadors.
